First State Bank was a commercial bank founded in 2002 which provided personal and business banking services. On October 14, 2011, First State Bank was closed by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named receiver. The bank was sold to Northfield Bank based in Staten Island, New York, which will assume all of First State's deposits.
