Derek Jeter is a Co-Owner and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Miami Marlins. He is an American baseball shortstop who has played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. By the time he stepped away from baseball in 2014 after a historic 20-year career, Mr. Jeter had established himself as one of the most respected men to ever have played the game. With a reputation as an unmatched leader both on and off the field, he has quickly transitioned into a second career leading a variety of successful business ventures and entrepreneurial investments. He is the first African-American to serve in this role for any major league team in the history of the sport. Along with his sister, Sharlee, he continues to be the driving force behind the Turn 2 Foundation, which he established in 1996 to give back to the communities with which he has a close connection, including West Michigan, Tampa and New York City.
