Description
Dr. Ted Caplow is the Co-Founder and C.E.O. of CappSci. Ted is an engineer and entrepreneur with interests in sustainable food production, renewable energy, biodiversity, toxicology, and child mortality. A pioneer in the field of building-integrated agriculture, Dr. Caplow designed and developed the Science Barge urban farm and patented the Vertically Integrated Greenhouse. He founded the science education company New York Sun Works and the urban farming enterprise BrightFarms. After relocating from New York to Miami, Dr. Caplow founded Fish Navy Films to make documentaries focused on marine sustainability. In 2012, following the birth of his triplets, Dr. Caplow offered the $1 million Caplow Children's Prize, ranking among the world's largest humanitarian prizes. Dr. Caplow holds a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Columbia University, a M.S. in mechanical engineering from Princeton University, and a B.A. from Harvard. He serves on the board of the Miami Science Museum.
