Mr. Andrew Murphy is an Angel Investor. Mr. Murphy serves as Vice President & Corporate Controller at Safeguard Scientifics. He is primarily responsible for Safeguard's SEC reporting and technical accounting matters as well as assisting Safeguard's partner companies in working through technical accounting challenges associated with new business transactions. Prior to joining Safeguard as Assistant Controller in December 2009, he spent years in public accounting focused on financial audits and SEC reporting. Drew was an audit Senior Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Philadelphia, PA serving primarily large multinational public companies in the manufacturing, medical products, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. In addition, he provided service to non-public companies in the auto dealership, and retail/distribuseveral outing Consulting Services (ACS). In ACS, he assisted client engagement teams across the country in solving complex technical accounting issues primarily concerning revenue recognition, loss contingencies, inventory and stock compensation. He has a B.A. in Business Administration/Accounting from Temple University, is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the AICPA.
