Mr. Darren Kimura is the Founder of Energy Smart News. He also served as Vice Chairman & Chief Strategy Officer at LiveAction. He founded and served as the Director at Energy Laboratories. Mr. Kimura is a Co-Founder and serves as General Partner at Enerdigm Ventures. He founded Sopogy and was also an Investor. He is a Managing Partner at Enerdigm Group, Inc. He has led a 20-year career in the technology industry. Over his career, he has overseen the acquisition of $2 billion in contracts, raised over $80 million in venture capital/private equity and over $100 million in project financing. He has served in corporate executive positions leading key strategic initiatives including Initial Public Offering (IPO), company acquisition, and numerous distribution and strategic agreements with Global 500 companies. He holds 12 patents, led the acquisition of 76 patents/licenses and has led teams over 500. His entrepreneurial career began in High School as he helped bring paintball to Hawaii. While in college he led to the foundation of Nalu Communications an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Energy Industries Corporation a leading US energy efficiency provider. He has since gone on to create and operate other cleantech, media and IT companies. Darren attended Portland State University where he studied Electrical Engineering and graduated with a BA from the University of Hawaii where he studied Information and Computer Sciences and Business. He is a Certified Fiber Optic Designer (CFOD), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM) and Certified Cogeneration Professional (CCP). He is also an Angel Investor. He also served as General Partner at Enerdigm.
