He is no longer an investor in new opportunities with Bessemer but remains actively involved in legacy portfolio investments including biotech companies AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Proteon, and Oxygen as well as medical device companies Accuvein and digital textbook pioneer Flat World Knowledge. Prior to his career at Bessemer, he co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer at GMIS, a healthcare software company he helped build, take public, and ultimately sell to the leading industry consolidator, McKesson. Bessemer was an investor in GMIS. He graduated from Harvard College with an AB in history and science and completed two years of the Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons M.D. program. He is now pursuing a second career in non-profit education innovation and is a Lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
