Dr. James Toussaint serves as Division Chief, Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Service at University of Florida Investment Corporation. He served as Executive at Orthopaedic Institute for Children. He served as Board Member and Advisor at Fruit Street Health. He is a surgeon at The Orthopaedic Institute where he specializes in degenerative, traumatic and sports-related foot & ankle disorders. Prior to joining TOI, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program in Boston, MA. He subsequently completed his foot & ankle fellowship training at the world-renowned OrthoCarolina Foot & Ankle Institute in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Toussaint earned his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine, where he graduated among the top of his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Chicago. He travels regularly to Haiti to provide orthopaedic care.Before entering the medical profession, Dr. Toussaint spent 4 years in corporate finance and investment banking at DaVita and Credit Suisse. He completed multiple transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, secondary offerings and IPOs.
