Mr. Pascal Gauthier serves as Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman at Ledger. He served as Venture Partner at Mosaic Ventures. He spent more than 15 years immersed in digital media and advertising technology. Early in his career, he led sales teams at price comparison service Kelkoo, both before and after its acquisition by Yahoo in 2004, ultimately becoming Commercial Director of Kelkoo sales for cars, travel and shopping. He joined Criteo in 2008 where he spent 5 years, primarily as Chief Operating Officer and he was instrumental in the company's rapid global expansion towards a $1 billion revenue business. He is one of the most successful venture-backed companies in Europe and has a $2.5bn market cap on NASDAQ. While serving as entrepreneur-in-residence at Index Ventures in 2014, he discovered the potential for bitcoin and realized this transformational new technology could only prosper if all users had access to reliable security and useful information. That insight was the spark for Challenger Deep, which he founded with the goal to be bitcoin's ultimate data provider. He also serves on the boards of two promising ad-tech companies Teads.tv and OpenX, and the secure bitcoin hardware wallet maker Ledger. He has also backed African remittance service BitPesa, as it combines bitcoin's potential as an asset, with the huge potential role for remittances in Africa. He serves as Advisor at Teemo. He serves as a Board Member at Komainu.He is a Co-Founder and serves as Board Member at Kaiko. He started his career at Kelkoo, which was acquired by Yahoo for EUR 475 million in 2004., he then joined the advertising company Criteo in 2008 where he worked for five years as COO. His first investment after Criteo was in Teads.tv, which was acquired earlier this year by Altice for EUR 256 million. Before being nominated CEO at Ledger, he worked as Venture Partner in Mosaic Ventures. He serves as an advisor at Oasis (Other Financial Services).
