Dr. Irwin M. Jacobs serves as Business Advisory Board Member at NeuroVigil. He is an Angel Investor. He is the founding Chairman and CEO Emeritus of Qualcomm and Linkabit, a former Professor at MIT and UCSD and a former Chairman of the Board of the Salk Institute and of the National Academy of Engineering. He serves on the international advisory board for Technion (the Israel Institute of Technology), on the advisory board for the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University and on the board of directors of the Pacific Council on International Policy. He co-authored the widely influential "Principles of Communication Engineering" textbook, is a pioneer in telecommunications and a noted philanthropist and patron of the arts. He is an IEEE fellow, a fellow of the National Academy of Arts & Science, a recipient of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal, the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship, the Franklin Institute Award, the inaugural IEEE/RSE Wolfson James Clerk Maxwell Award, the IEEE's Medal of Honor and Milestone Award, the Marconi Prize, the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy, the IMEC Lifetime of Innovation Award and an inductee into the National Inventors Hall of Fame among many other well-deserved distinctions. He holds a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a Master's and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
