Dr. Alfred Mann is an Angel Investor. Dr. Mann founded and served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Medical Research Group. He founded and served as CEO at Medtronic MiniMed. He served as Chairman at Mannkind. He has been one of our directors since April 1999, our Chairman of the Board since December 2001, and our Chief Executive Officer since October 2003. Mr. Mann has founded and largely funded 17 companies in his career. Nine were acquired at an overall total of almost $8 billion, and two companies became public. In addition to MannKind, he is currently involved with Bioness, Second Sight, IncuMed, and PerQFlo.
