Mr. Kemal Farid is a Co-Founder & serves as Chief Operating Officer at Everest Financial. He serves as Board Member at GeoScale. He founded and served as Managing Director at Farid Ventures. He also is an Angel Investor. He served as Managing Director in BlueVine Ventures. He previously founded Merrick Systems, served as its CEO for over two decades, and grew it into the global leader in oil and gas production and hydrocarbon accounting software. After his successful exit from Merrick to P2 Energy Solutions, He launched Farid Ventures, a venture-focused family office for early and growth-stage enterprises. Portfolio investments and founder history include P2 Energy Solutions, Uber (IPO), GeoScale, Seismos, YouPlus, WaveGuide, Abbey Research, Kraftwurx, Zhongmen Group, Axon, SURGE Ventures, RigHand (Vallorec), OVS Group and Shiv Om (Ryan). He was awarded Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011. He serves on several profit and non-profit boards including leadership positions in the Society of Petroleum Engineers and at the University of Houston. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an Entrepreneurship Master's from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is an investor and a veteran technology entrepreneur in energy, financial, manufacturing, e-commerce, and healthcare products & services businesses. For three decades, he has built and grown software, electronics, engineering, IT, and services businesses with a specialization in the oil and gas industry covering production operations, exploration, drilling, reservoir management, and financial services. He was an early pioneer in the digitization of oil and gas field operations and developed public-private partnerships to fund and grow the innovation ecosystem in MENA. He is a regular speaker on entrepreneurship, the digitization of industrial operations, and the cultural impact of technology innovation.
