Description

Dr. Gene Salkind served as a Partner at Steel Pier Capital Advisors and served as Board Member at Constellation Alpha Capital. He is Board Member & Treasurer at Northeast Management Consulting Association. He is a Board Member of Cure Pharmaceutical. His background includes over 25 years as a practicing neurosurgeon in private practice, with an academic affiliation, in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his BA (cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania, and his MD from the Temple University School of Medicine, with distinction. He has had numerous faculty, hospital, and administrative appointments at virtually every major hospital in northeastern Philadelphia and surrounding areas. As a prolific pharmaceutical investor, some of his previous successful investments include Intuitive Surgical, Pharmacyclics, which grew from less than $1 per share to subsequently being acquired by Abbvie for $250/share, and Centocor, one of the nation's largest biotechnology companies, which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson for $4.9 billion in stock. He currently sits on the board of DermTech, a private company based in San Diego that has become the global leader in non-invasive dermatological molecular diagnostics.
