Mr. Michael Green is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Director at Mountain State Capital. He serves as Board of Directors at Valtari Bio. He is an experienced early stage investor, successful technology executive, and community leader in West Virginia. Prior to co-founding Mountain State Capital, Mike created its predecessor fund, West Virginia Growth Investment, LLC ("WVGI"). He serves as the Chairman of West Virginia Growth Investment. Prior to this he was the Chairman of Landslide Technologies. Through WVGI, Mike continues to serve as an adviser, investor and board member for a portfolio of privately held technology companies. In addition, prior to his investment activities through WVGI, Mike assembled a personal portfolio of angel investments, and also served on the Board of Directors of Innovation Works, Inc., a $50 million seed fund in Pittsburgh, PA. Mike is a successful technology executive, having served as the Senior VP and General Manager of Worldwide Sales for FORE Systems, Inc., a developer of high-speed networking equipment, from 1992 through the company's acquisition by Marconi in 1999 for nearly $5 Billion. After FORE Systems, Mike was recruited by Netscape founder Marc Andreesen to serve as the President of Field Operations for Loudcloud, Inc., one of the first cloud computing companies, which was ultimately acquired by HP for $1.8 Billion. Mike is a committed community leader, and currently serves as the President of the West Virginia Board of Education, as well as serving on the boards of the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation, the West Virginia Angel Investment Network and several advisory boards at West Virginia University. Mike earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Boston University and a master's degree in numerical science from Johns Hopkins University.
