Mr. Volker Heistermann serves as Managing Director at Yushan Ventures. He also serves as Venture Partner at Trans-Pacific Technology Fund. Before founding Yushan Ventures and YSeed, Mr. Heistermann was a vice president at Rutberg & Co., a boutique investment bank in the mobile telecommunications industry with offices in San Francisco and Boston. Previously, Mr. Heistermann was at Google, focused on the German search engine market. Before Google, he was Manager of Market Intelligence at IDG, where he directed research programs and conferences. Mr. Heistermann began his career in Germany at Commerzbank and co-founded a startup that facilitated joint ventures among German and Chinese small and mid-sized businesses. Mr. Heistermann is an advisor to the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs' SMEA, he organizes the MobileMonday Taipei Chapter and Startup Weekend Taipei/Hsinchu/Kaohsiung/Tainan events, brought Startup Labs to Taiwan, and he is an advisor at Mobile Metrix, a social venture incubated at Stanford University. Mr. Heistermann holds a B.A. in Financial Law from the University of Bielefeld in Germany and studied International Marketing at UC Berkeley Extension.
