Ms. Alyssa Lovegrove serves as Associate Director & Entrepreneur-in-Residence at StartupHoyas. She is an experienced business executive with a career spanning the banking, management consulting, consumer retailing and non-profit sectors in the US and UK. Her current focus is social entrepreneurship and social impact ventures - including the launch of social impact businesses and the unique challenges of managing "double and triple bottom line" organizations. Alyssa began her career as a commercial banker on Wall Street and then joined McKinsey & Company, where she worked as a strategy consultant in both New York and London. She left consulting to launch The Great Little Trading Company, a UK-based mail order and online retailer of children's products that quickly became recognized as one of Britain's fastest growing mid-sized companies. After stepping down from day-to-day management of that business in 2005, she worked as a strategy consultant to commercial and social sector entrepreneurs. She also launched New Venture Mentors, a non-profit seed fund and incubator for entrepreneurs from underserved urban communities. Alyssa is currently the Associate Director of the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative and is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence. She holds a BA in government from Harvard and an MBA in finance from the NYU Stern School of Business.
