Through the 1980s and the early 90s, he provided consulting services in software development and network engineering. He has been a Series 7 Registered Representative and a NASDAQ Broker/Dealer. He has served on the boards of directors of several organizations, including the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), SCTE Foundation, and Beaumaris Networks. He served as chairman of the board of SCTE during the 2011-2012 term and was reelected for the 2012-2013 term. In 2011, he was named to the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame.
