Dr. Raymond Smith serves as Advisory Partner at Potomac Equity Partners. He was a Co-Founder at Arlington Capital Partners. He also serves as Advisor at TeleBright. He is also an Angel Investor. He also serves as an Advisory Partner at Potomac Equity Partners. Prior to joining Arlington, he was Chairman of Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) from which he retired after ten years as the corporation's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, Bell Atlantic acquired NYNEX in 1997 and announced the acquisition of GTE in 1998. Prior to becoming chairman and chief executive officer of Bell Atlantic, he held the titles of president and chief financial officer. Prior to the formation of Bell Atlantic, he served as Director of Budget and Finance at AT&T and Chief Executive Officer of Bell of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Over the years, he has served on the boards of Bell Atlantic, The Carnegie Corporation, Westinghouse, CBS, Corestates Financial, First Union, US Airways, and others. He is also Chairman of Rothschild, North America and Chairman of Verizon Ventures.
