Description
Mr. Geoffrey Bernstein is a Co-Founder and General Partner at Indicator Ventures. In addition to the investment side of the business, Mr. Bernstein is responsible for setting up and maintaining all aspects of fund operations at Indicator, including selecting and working with service providers, valuations, reporting, deal structuring, finance, and legal. Prior to founding Indicator Ventures, Geoff was a research associate and member of the Investment Committee at HighVista Strategies, a Boston-based hedge fund with $5B in assets under management. Geoff was responsible for sourcing and analyzing investment opportunities across multiple sectors and asset classes, focusing primarily on illiquid investments including real estate, infrastructure, private equity, and venture capital. Geoff was also responsible for analyzing and presenting portfolio construction and performance to clients, which included family offices, foundations, pensions, endowments, and sovereign wealth funds. He also assisted with valuations and fund operations roles as part of a lean team. Before moving to the buy-side, Geoff spent four years in Leveraged Finance and Debt Capital Markets at Jefferies & Company in Los Angeles, New York, and London, where he worked on underwriting and syndication of over $10B in high-yield bonds and leveraged loans for businesses across all industries. Mr. Bernstein built a successful portfolio of nearly 20 angel investments in the years leading up to founding Indicator Ventures. Mr. Bernstein currently serves as Board Member and Observer at Resolve, Belay, Brink, CapLinked, Cielo24, Databento, Scope, Shibumi, Simplifeye, Unikrn, and Proteus Motion. Mr. Bernstein grew up in the Greater Boston area where he lives with his wife Taylor and their son Dustin. He's a graduate of Brown University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a major in Economics and a minor in Applied Mathematics. He's extremely passionate about healthcare accessibility and innovation, education, and the Boston community, and currently serves as a Trustee and member of the Finance Committee and Corporate Leadership Council for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston where he's been involved for over 15 years, first as a volunteer. Additionally, he serves as a Trustee and member of the Finance Committee at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
