During his tenure, he was the driving force in the rapid growth of the company from $25 million in annual revenue to over $1 billion. Following the acquisition of RSA by EMC in 2006, He continued to lead the company as Executive Chairman and President until he retired from the full-time role in early 2015. He has played a leading role in several national cyber-security initiatives including as a founding board member of the Cyber Security Industry Alliance and has served as an advisor to key government agencies as well as public-private initiatives. He is also an organizer of the Digital Equilibrium Project, which works to bring differing views together in pursuit of a digital constitution to support a safer world for individuals, organizations, and nations. He was one of the founding investors in Rally Ventures in 2013 and is now a Venture Partner, also investing personal money in technology companies. He holds an MS (Master of Science) in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a BS (Bachelor of Science) in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
