Jay Leek General Information
Mr. Jay Leek serves as Managing Partner at ClearSky. Mr. Leek is also currently a consultant to Blackstone where he helps, through ClearSky Security Fund I, to lead and coordinate the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) community across Blackstones portfolio companies and advises them on their information security strategy. Mr. Leek is the former CISO for Blackstone, where he also shared responsibility for identifying, structuring, evaluating, executing, and overseeing Blackstone Innovations portfolio of information security investments. Prior to joining Blackstone in 2012, Mr. Leek established, built and headed up global information risk and security programs for Equifax and Nokia. Throughout the past 19 years, Mr. Leek has also worked as a product manager for information security vendors as well as a consultant to numerous telecom companies, government agencies, and financial institutions, assisting them with business development, strategic planning and architectural design required to meet their information risk and security objectives. Mr. Leek holds a B.S. from Capella University in information assurance and security, and is a Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Information Systems Auditor. Mr. Leek currently serves as a member of the boards of directors of BigID, Blue Lava, SecZetta, Capsule8, CloudKnox, CyberGRX, IntSights, Respond Software, and the NY Metro ISSA Chapter. He was also formerly a member of the board of directors of Accuvant, Carbon Black (listed on Nasdaq), Demisto (acquired by Palo Alto Networks), Optiv, ProtectWise (acquired by Verizon), and Verodin, in addition to formerly serving as a board observer of Cylance (acquired by Blackberry) and RedOwl (acquired by Forcepoint). He also formerly served as a member of the advisory boards of iSIGHT Partners (acquired by FireEye) and Phantom Cyber (acquired by Splunk). He serves as a Board Observer at AppOmni.
