Since 1991, he has been investing in early-stage environmental and e-commerce companies, assuming Board and/or senior management roles. Chief among them are: founding investor and Director of Stem, the leading distributed storage and grid services company; past Chairman and founding investor of SunEdison (NYSE:SUNE) until its sale to MEMC in 2009; past Director and early investor in SunRun (NASD:RUN) the 2nd largest US residential solar company; past founding investor and Director of ValueClick (NASD:VCLK), sold to Alliance Data Systems (NYSE: ADS) in 2014 and past founding investor, Director and CFO, of Best Internet, the largest global shared server web host, sold to Verio in 1999 (NASD:VRIO). He earned a B.A. from Middlebury College in 1982 and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1988.
