Sheila Gulati General Information
Ms. Sheila Gulati is the Founder and serves as Managing Director at Tola Capital. She also serves as Board Member and Advisor at Aurigo. She serves as Board Member at Sitecore and Pulumi. She is a seasoned software expert with a wide range of experience as a software-focused investment banker, an M&A leader within a tech mega cap, a web developer, a business strategist and business owner for a large software division inside Microsoft. She blends her financial and strategic acumen with her deep knowledge and passion for software businesses. She was the business and marketing leader for the Enterprise Application Platform for Microsoft. This responsibility included the company's Database and Developer Platform and Tools businesses, SQL Server, Visual Studio Development Tools, and the .NET platform, contributing $5 billion in annual global revenue. She led a global team that managed all aspects of marketing for the Application Platform product portfolio, including the product definition, value proposition, messaging, pricing and offers, and all external product communication. She co-owned the Enterprise IT strategy for Microsoft to drive a successful major business shift to capture more revenue share and seize new computing trends, including the shift to cloud computing and the evolution of data technologies. She spent over a decade at Microsoft in other roles, including Developer and Platform Evangelism, Business Management, Corporate M&A, and Strategy. Prior to Microsoft, she was an investment banker for Robertson Stephens, where she closely partnered with her clients to drive financing, acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures. Early in her career, she spent time as a web developer for public and private sector organizations. She is a second-generation software entrepreneur. She also serves as Venture Advisor at Unitus Seed Fund. She completed BS in Science and Technology from Georgetown University.
