Dr. Shawnalea Frazier serves as Director at AbbVie Ventures. She also serves as a Board Member at Jnana Therapeutics and FireCyte Therapeutics. Previously, she served as Executive Director of Business Development at VxP Pharma, a service company facilitating contractual collaborations in discovery, development, and manufacturing in the life science industry. In addition, she was Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor of a Bay Area startup developing platform technology relevant to neurological and ocular indications. Her research experience spans the areas of cellular physiology and molecular engineering with applications to biological therapeutics and gene therapy. She received her PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics with an emphasis in Neuroscience from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Before she earned combined BS and Master's degrees from Kansas State University in Biochemistry in an accelerated 5-year program.
