Biography

Mr. Jacobo Abitbol serves as Managing Partner at Cathay Innovation. He serves as a Board Member at Flowdes k. He served as a Board Member at DayTwo, Kayrros, Cafler, Owkin, and Wallbox. He also served as a Board Member at Alkemics. He benefits from over 17 years of advisory and operational experience in Telecommunications, Media, and Technology, with particular expertise in venture capital and corporate development. Before joining Cathay Innovation, He was a Venture Partner with Iris Capital in Israël from 2012 to 2015. In this role, he was responsible for identifying investment opportunities for Iris Capital and monitoring local portfolio companies. In addition, He headed the Corporate Development activity for the Orange Startups program. Before, he was Vice President for Corporate Development at Orange Digital from 2012 to 2013 and Investment Director at Orange Capital (now Iris Capital) from 2011 to 2012. Previously, He was Business Development & Sales Director for the mobile division of SanDisk from 2006 to 2011 and worked as a Corporate and Business Development Director at GFI in Spain from 2003 to 2006. He started his career as part of the management team of Fantine Group (now Aviv Ventures). He holds an MBA from Boston University and a degree in Business Administration from Madrid Business School.
