Jim Snyder JD General Information

Biography

Mr. Jim Snyder served as Board Member at OceanGate. He retired from Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel, LP as of December 31, 2007. He was a founding principal and had served as its President and Chief Executive Officer continuously since 1978. He was responsible for managing the strategic direction of the company and, as Chief Executive, was ultimately responsible for the implementation of investment strategy for all funds and separate accounts. Mr. Snyder holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Texas School of Law and a BS degree from the University of Colorado; he is a member of the Texas Bar Association. In addition, he is a co-founder and charter member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a past member of the Real Estate Roundtable, and a member (as well as past Chairman) of the National Associate of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM). He was the co-founder of both the NewTower Trust Company and the Multi-Employer Property Trust (MEPT), a $5 billion commingled open-ended real estate fund. NewTower Trust Company, a Maryland chartered trust company, serves as trustee for MEPT. Mr. Snyder has served on corporate and charitable boards, including NewTower Trust Company Board of Directors, Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel, LP, The Highlands, Inc., Seattle Children's Home Board of Trustees, Health Resources Northwest (HRN) Board of Trustees (NW Hospital), Northwest Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, University of Washington/Northwest Hospital Board and Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies Advisory Board, University of Washington.
