Biography

Mr. Giuseppe Cuccurese serves as General Manager at Banco Di Sardegna. Hired at the San Paolo Banking Institute in Turin in 1974, he holds roles of increasing responsibility in the securities and stock exchange sector, abroad, audit, credit and commercial development. In 1989 he acquired a master's degree in Finance and Capital Market at Midland Montagu in London and among other things he was seconded to Poland for a 30-week World Bank twining project. In 1996 he was promoted to Executive with the position of Director of the New York Office and Supervisor of Activities in the Americas. During his stay in the United States he held the roles of Director of Banca IMI Securities Corp., Director of the Chilean subsidiary Banco del Desarrollo and member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Foreign Banks of New York. In 2002 he returned to Italy with the position of Head of international activities and foreign networks of San Paolo IMI. In 2005 he was promoted to Central Director and appointed Head of the Foreign Department. In this position he deals, among other things, with the acquisitions of foreign banks in Serbia, Albania, Slovenia and Egypt for an investment of over 2 billion dollars. On 25 June 2012 he left the Intesa San Paolo Group after 38 years and joined the Bper Group taking on the role of General Manager of Banco di Sardegna SpA., A leading bank in Sardinia with 327 branches on the island and 9 in the Peninsula. In previous experiences he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Masi Foundation (National Observatory for Internationalization and Exchanges) and Director of the Italy - China Foundation. He held the position of Chairman of Banka Koper (Slovenia), Vice Chairman of Bank of Alexandria (Egypt), Chairman of Sanpaolo Bank Albania, Vice Chairman of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Ireland, Director of SEB and Sanpaolo Bank (Luxembourg), Director of Private Equity International.
