Biography

Mr. Kyle Matter serves as Managing Director of Global Impact, North America & Member of the Global Impact Investment Committee and Portfolio Management Committee at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. He serves as Chairman at CoolIT systems. He serves as a Board Member at Resource Environmental Solutions and Axius Water. He joined KKR Capstone in 2010 and later transitioned to KKR Global Impact and became a full-time member of the investing team. Before transitioning his role, Mr. Matter previously led KKR Capstone's value creation efforts for KKR's energy investing platform. In his role with KKR Capstone, he worked closely with investment professionals to provide an operations perspective to the entire lifecycle of the investment decision. Mr. Matter was involved in the development of investment themes, the early evaluation and due diligence of energy investments and the delivery of operational transformations within KKR's energy portfolio companies. While at KKR Capstone, Mr. Matter worked closely with many of KKR's energy and environmental services portfolio companies including Resource Environmental Solutions where he served for a time as interim Chief Operating Officer, Venado Oil & Gas, Preferred Sands, Marverde Infraestructura, Samson Resources, Monterra Energy and RigNet. Before aligning with the Energy team, he worked with a diverse set of portfolio companies including Visant, Del Monte / Big Heart Pet Brands and Kodak. Before joining KKR Capstone, Mr. Matter was with Bain & Company in their Chicago office where he worked across a variety of industries and with private equity firms during the due diligence process. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from the School of Engineering at Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
