Biography

Mr. Mariano Gilles Co-Founded and served as Managing Partner at White Bridge Investment. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial markets, advisory and consulting businesses, having worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland, ABN AMRO Bank, Citigroup, and Arthur Andersen. Since 2006 and prior to joining White-Bridge as a founding Partner, he was the Managing Director responsible for leading ABN AMRO's (and subsequently the Royal Bank of Scotland's) Latin American Energy & Resources Group out of Houston. In that capacity, he led the origination and execution of all Latin American advisory, M&A, and overall investment banking business related to the oil & gas, power & utilities, and metals & mining sectors. Prior to joining the Houston office to lead ABN AMRO's Energy & Resource Latin American franchise, he spent five years as the Investment Banking and Corporate Banking Head in ABN AMRO Venezuela. While at ABN AMRO Venezuela, he was also responsible for leading the bank's regional Energy & Resources franchise in the Andean, Caribbean, and Central American regions out of Caracas. He has originated and executed some of the largest investment banking, fixed income, commodities, M&A, advisory, acquisition financing, derivatives, syndicated loans, and structured transactions in the region for both corporate and quasi-sovereign clients, representing an accumulated transaction volume in excess of US$20 billion. Prior to leading ABN AMRO Venezuela's investment and corporate banking practice, he spent four years at ABN AMRO Argentina as a Senior Banker covering the Energy sector. Some of the largest clients he managed included, among others, Petroleos de Venezuela, Ecopetrol, ISA, AES Corp, AEI, Endesa, and Union Fenosa. Before joining ABN AMRO, he worked at Citigroup's Energy group in Argentina and spent three years with Arthur Andersen's Energy & Resources division during the 90's "privatization era". He holds degrees in Business Administration and Accountancy from the Universidad Catolica Argentina.
