Biography

Mr. Kevin Urgo serves as Principal & Managing Partner at Urgo Hotels. He joined Urgo Hotels & Resorts in 1998 as a Principal. He is involved in all aspects of Urgo Hotels & Resorts' management, development and corporate activities. His day-to-day focus and responsibility is the oversight of corporate strategic planning, the company's growth strategies including third-party management opportunities, acquisitions, development and corporate and project financing and accounting activities for Urgo Hotels & Resorts. Under his leadership of its growth strategies, the company has added more than 50 hotels and nearly 8,000 rooms to its managed and owned portfolio. For three years prior, he served as vice president of acquisitions and development for Sunburst Hospitality Corporation (NYSE: CHH), a spin-off of Choice Hotels International and Manor Care, Inc. He was responsible for the company's acquisition and development activities in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and oversaw 35 such projects during his tenure. As a consultant for Arthur Consulting Group International, he conducted hotel and restaurant market and feasibility studies, appraisals and economic impact studies, as well as tourism development studies and strategic planning assignments, for clients ranging from Hyatt Corporation and Choice Hotels International to the World Bank, Organization of American States, the City of Oakland (Calif.) and the City of Quincy (Mass.).
