Biography

Mr. Kevin Barry serves as Joint Managing Director at Thakral Capital Australia. He also serves as Chairman at ICS Global. He has over 16 years of working in structured finance. Initially, he started as a structured finance lawyer in Sydney (KPMG & BDW) and then London (Norton Rose) where he gained broad experience over a number of structured finance asset classes, including residential and commercial property finance, aircraft leasing and property transactions. In 2001, he moved to investment banking at Zurich Capital Markets Asia where he was Senior Vice President responsible for the structuring and execution of the principal finance business, including the funding of commercial and residential loan portfolios. More recently he was the founder of the CHOPIN structured finance business that originated fixed-income products across a number of different assets classes, including mezzanine property finance, lease and trade receivables and MIS loans, and was also involved in setting up the credit strategies fund management business at Pengana Capital. Mr. Barry graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Laws degree from the University of New South Wales and is a practicing solicitor in New South Wales.
