Biography

Mr. Tom Lawless serves as a Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Mr. Lawless served as Managing Director at The Abraaj Group. He served as an Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. His practice focuses on corporate and financial transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions. He joined the firm in 2008 having previously been a trainee and then associate at Ashurst LLP in London and worked at Merrill Lynch International (on secondment) in London. From 2008 to 2012, he was a resident in the London office. He graduated from Oriel College, University of Oxford in 2003 with an honours degree in Modern History. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Law in 2004 and graduated from the Legal Practice Course in 2005 with a commendation, both at BPP Law School in London. He is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
