Biography

Dr. Thomas Kraemer serves as Chief Executive Officer, Manager, Trustee, and General Partner at Alloy Investments. He has been actively involved in the equities markets since the early 1990s, working in technology equity research at Bernstein, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch for eight years. In his last position at Merrill, he led a team covering server and enterprise hardware as a Managing Director. Greenwich Associates and Institutional Investor ranked him every year he covered stocks. In 2000, Fortune magazine chose him as one of the fifteen best analysts working on Wall Street. He was one of the first analysts to downgrade the technology sector in late 2000. He also has operating experience. Beginning in 2006, he planned, financed, and led the turnaround of a failing $350 million heavy construction and mining business. The team shuttered five divisions, replaced the entire top management team, saved over 400 jobs, and repaid a significant debt load. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He completed a Ph.D. in Management at the Wharton School where he concentrated on entrepreneurship and strategy. He completed his BA in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
