Biography

Richard McGrath serves as President at McGrath Insurance Group. As a third-generation owner of McGrath Insurance, Richard has been with the company for 40 years. In addition to the overall management of the agency's operations, his responsibilities include business development and consideration of new products and agency acquisitions. He has helped the agency exceed annual premiums of more than $20 million, and has grown the company to more than 20 employees with offices located in Sturbridge and Spencer. As a leader in the insurance industry, Richard was recently recognized by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) for 20 years of leadership. He is committed to educating his staff, and has made it the company's mission to educate all clients on making the right decisions to protect their business, personal, and life insurance needs. Richard is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) and the Insurance Alliance. He is also a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Licensed Insurance Advisor (LIA). He earned his bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), and completed the Executive Leadership and Development Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Richard is a director of the New England Service Co. & Valley Water Systems, and a corporator of Southbridge Savings Bank and Harrington Hospital. He is also a member of the Worcester Economic Club. He served as a board of director for the Southbridge Credit Union for 22 years and is a former member of the Southbridge Rotary Club.
