David Barnes JD General Information
Biography
Mr. David Barnes served as Associate at King & Spalding. He is an associate in the firm's national appellate and strategic counseling practice group. His practice includes a range of complex commercial litigation matters, focusing primarily on cases involving director and officer liability and disputes involving financial institutions. Mr. Barnes has filed appellate briefs in courts across the country including in the United States Supreme Court, Firth Circuit, Sixth Circuit, Eleventh Circuit, D.C. Circuit, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Georgia Court of Appeals. He has argued dispositive motions in both state and federal court. Prior to joining King & Spalding, he served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Karen LeCraft Henderson on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He was the valedictorian of his class at Vanderbilt University Law School, where he served as the Symposium Editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review and President of the Law & Business Society. He also received the Morgan Prize for the most outstanding piece of student writing published in the Law Review. Prior to law school, Mr. Barnes spent three years in the Office of Business Development of a middle-market construction products firm based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he held key roles to two successful acquisitions.
