Biography

Mr. R. Foster Duncan serves as an Operating Partner at Bernhard Capital Partners. Previously, he served as Managing Partner at SAIL Capital Partners. He also serves as Board Treasurer at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Mr. Duncan had been a Managing Director at Advantage Capital Partners with senior management responsibility for the firm's cleantech portfolio. Mr. Duncan has more than 30 years of senior corporate, private equity, and investment banking experience. Previously, Mr. Duncan held various positions in the private equity industry including, Managing Member of KD Capital L.L.C., an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. ("KKR"). Mr. Duncan was located in KKR's New York office and worked exclusively with KKR and its portfolio companies in connection with creating value and identifying and investing in the energy, utility, natural resources, and infrastructure sectors. Earlier, Mr. Duncan was Executive Vice President and CFO of Cinergy Corporation, a Fortune 250 Energy and Utility Company, Chairman of Cinergy's Investment Committee, and CEO and President of Cinergy's Commercial Business Unit. Mr. Duncan has also held important financial management posts at LG&E Energy and Freeport-McMoRan and served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Howard, Weil Financial Corporation. He graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia and later received his MBA degree from the A. B. Freeman Graduate School of Business at Tulane University. Mr. Duncan serves on the Boards of Directors of Atlantic Power Corporation, North American Energy Alliance, Xtreme Power, and SensorTran. He also serves on the Board of Advisors of GridPoint.
