Elizabeth Reese General Information
Biography
Ms. Elizabeth Reese served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Southern Company Gas. In this role, Reese directed finance, accounting, and business planning functions for all of AGL Resources' businesses. She served on the AGL Resources Policy Committee. Formerly senior vice president of AGL Resources and president of Nicor Gas, Reese was the first woman to serve as president of the Illinois utility, the largest natural gas distribution company in that state. She also served as controller for AGL Resources and vice president over several of the company's functional areas, including operational planning and analysis, business innovation, customer service, and finance. Prior to joining AGL Resources in 2000, Reese was a senior manager for the worldwide accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte LLP. In addition to her business acumen, Reese is a champion for diversity-related programs. She was the first chair of AGL Resources' LEAD (Leadership, Empowerment, Acceptance, Diversity) Council and during her tenure in Illinois was a member of The Chicago Network and the Committee of 200. She also served on the board of directors for the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and the board of trustees for The Field Museum of Natural History. Ms. Reese received her bachelor's degree from St. Andrews Presbyterian College and her master's in accounting from the University of Georgia.
