Biography

Dr. Edelweis Ritt serves as CIO at HT Micron Semicondutores. She served as Partner at Atacama Ventures. She also served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer at Current Motor. She is a Diretora de Inovação e novos negocios at SBMICRO. She has a broad, academic, and business background in the electronics industry. At Agilent Germany, she worked as a production engineer and IC designer. She was involved in multi-million transistor System-on-a-Chip developments and was also responsible for remote foundry management. Edelweiss was with CEITEC in Brazil from the very beginning. She was initially responsible for the Design Center and later became COO for CEITEC S.A. - a company with 6" Wafer FAB and more than 200 employees. At Semikron Brazil, Edelweis was General Manager for South America, responsible for a production facility for power electronics, with 550 employees and ~100 million BRL of revenue. In 2013 Edelweis was asked by ABINEE to restructure IPD Electron, an institute for Electronics Industry Innovation. Edelweis lectured at Universidade do Rio dos Sinos Unisinos computer architecture and digital circuits. She was also a lecturer at PUC-RS in Porto Alegre. Edelweis was Business development and innovation director for the Brazilian Societies for Microelectronics and Vice-president of the task force for semiconductors from the AMCHAM . Since 2005 Edelweis is a committee member of the "IC Brazil" program sponsored by the Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation. Edelweis has a PUC-RS computer Science degree, MSc from UFRGS and a PhD from Tübingen University Germany. She speaks English, German, and her native Portuguese.
