Biography

Ms. Maria Correa-Ordoñez served as Operating Partner at Efromovich/Silva Capital Partners. She has more than 25 years of experience working in finance, both in the public and private sectors. She started her career in the National Planning Department of Colombia as a researcher and continued her research activities both at Bavaria (SaabMiller) and at the Central Bank, where she moved on to an advisory position. She has worked at the Corporacion Financiera del Valle as the Director for Strategic Planning, at the Ministry of Finance, as Advisor to the Minister, and as Chief of Staff at the Financial Superintendency of Colombia. She then moved to Skandia, Old Mutual, as CFO to later become CIO where she was responsible for Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay and had US$12B under management. She holds a Bachelor's and Masters Degree in Economics from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá and a Masters in International Affairs-Economic Policy Management from Columbia University.
