Biography

Dr. Will Logging served as Chief Technology Officer at Wellomics. He is an Associate Professor of Genetics and Genome Sciences, as well as, Director of Alliance Management at the Icahn Mt Sinai School of Medicine in NYC. He has a long history of impacting multiple drug discovery projects through innovative biology, chemistry, and informatics approaches. After receiving his PhD in molecular biology from University of South Carolina-Columbia, he conducted a clinical fellowship followed by a post-doc at Duke Medical Center. He then moved to Pfizer Inc. where he spent nearly eight years expanding bioinformatics and chemoinformatics capabilities leading several teams in drug discovery projects. William was awarded the Pfizer Global Achievement Award due to his scientific work that assisted in the approval of Maraviroc (SelzentryTM). He then transitioned to Director of Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology/Knowledge Discovery at Boehringer-Ingelheim (BI) Pharmaceutical USA. At BI, Will was recognized by Global Research management for his leadership and scientific contributions for the approval of Empagliflozin (JardianceTM). After six years, he moved to his current position at Mt Sinai. He has extensive experience in cutting edge informatics technologies and how these can be utilized to expand and drive drug discovery. Will has expertise in generating innovative solutions to needs within the Life Sciences including big data analysis, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data processing, therapeutic approach differentiation; digital animation and visualization, and Autodesk Maya 3D. Will served for six years as E-5 non-commissioned officer for US Marine Corps and is fluent in French and German. Dr. Loging has several issued patents and published his work in top scientific journals such as Nature Reviews Drug Discovery, Nature Chemical Biology, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
