Rachel Giguere General Information

Biography

Ms. Rachel Giguere served as an Associate at McMillan. She is a member of McMillan's Restructuring Group. She is developing a practice focused in all aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy, as well as class actions and commercial litigation. She has been involved in preparing in-depth opinions and analysis, developing arguments, preparing submissions and making representations in restructurings, bankruptcies and liquidations for secured lenders, unsecured creditors and receivers. These matters include security enforcement and complex litigation giving rise to novel questions of law. She acts for defendants in some of the major recent Quebec class actions related to alleged anti-competitive practices, including those for optical lenses, DRAM and retail gas. Rachel also defended product liability class actions for pharmaceuticals companies. She also acts for corporations, not-for profit organizations and trade associations in the negotiation of dispute settlements, complex multi-party projects for the aviation industry and financings. She earned a certificate in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Civil Law, International Profile, at Laval University, during which she has completed a semester focused on international trade law at the Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires. Prior to joining McMillan, Rachel worked in facility management for a Canadian multinational company for many years.
