Biography

Mr. Doug Pak is the Founder & Owner and serves as Principal & Chief Executive Officer at Serazen. He is a serial entrepreneur and seasoned executive in a chain restaurant and franchise businesses. Presently, Mr. Pak is the founder, majority owner and CEO of a foodservice investment and management company named Serazen, which consists of Papa John's Pizza and Hardee's franchises and BLD Brands, which consists of Stir Crazy Asian Grill and Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants. Headquartered in Newport Beach, CA, his companies together generate nearly $180 million in annual revenues from 143 establishments located in 15 states across the US. Mr. Pak founded BLD Brands and Serazen in 2005 with no money in his pocket but raised more than $120 Mill of capital to grow his business from scratch. He is also an investor in a number of startup ventures in various industries that include robotics, the internet, and children's services. Prior to 2005, Mr. Pak co-founded a technology company with angel investment and R&D funding from the National Research Council (NRC), a government technology funding arm of Canada. In addition, his prior work history includes real estate consulting and valuation, corporate finance, and restaurant development and operations. Mr. Pak currently serves as a board member for Pepperdine University based in Malibu, CA, and as an advisor to the Loyola Marymount University MBA incubation program. His personal mentor is John Shields, former chairman and CEO of Trader's Joe's who grew a small company of 17 units into a multi-billion retail enterprise. He is also a founding member of a Vistage chapter in Orange County, CA.
