Biography

Mr. Ford Worthy serves as Partner & Senior Advisor at Pappas Capital. He is a lawyer and CPA with an extensive background in finance and accounting. He is responsible for all Pappas Ventures' financial and administrative activities, including financial reporting and investor relations. Before joining Pappas in 1997, he was a corporate and securities attorney for Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice and was a member of that firm's Emerging Businesses practice group. He previously served as a director of Healthgate Data Corporation, acquirer of EBM Solutions, and he participated as a board observer at TargeGen, which was acquired in 2010 by Sanofi-aventis for upfront and potential milestone payments totaling $560 million, and at Novalon Pharmaceutical, which was acquired in 2000 at a substantial premium by a publicly held Swedish company. He is a board member of SEBIO. He served as chairman of Biotech 2002, an annual conference that brings together nearly 1000 members of North Carolina's biotech community. Earlier in his career, Ford was a writer and associate editor for Fortune Magazine, serving as bureau chief in both Chicago and Hong Kong. He received his BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from the University of Chicago, where he was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review.
