Biography

Mr. Stephen Bennett serves as Senior Managing Director at Stonehenge Capital. He served as Board Member at TAS Environmental Services. He manages the venture capital, private equity and mezzanine investment activities of Stonehenge Capital Company. Mr. Bennett serves as a Board Member at Bulldog Solutions. He manages the Texas operations of Stonehenge Growth Capital including Stonehenge Capital Fund Texas. His responsibilities include the origination and management of investments. Mr. Bennett began his career as a commercial lender for Bank One in Dallas where he focused primarily on leveraged transactions including management buyouts, leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations. Subsequently, he became a Manager in the Telecommunications and Media practice of Deloitte Consulting. He led engagements for clients including telecommunications service providers and equipment manufacturers in the areas of strategy assessment, merger assessment and integration, competitive response, market entry and asset management. He joined SGC's predecessor Banc One Capital Markets in 1998 working in the Tampa office until he opened the Dallas office in 2005 where he manages the Texas funds. He has made growth equity investments since 2001. He currently sits on the board of SGC portfolio companies Pilgrim Software, Alinean and Infrastruct Security. He is a board observer for SensorTran, T&K Machine, First American Vacuum Service and Performance Alloys. He has been a frequent speaker and competition judge at universities and industry events including Southern Methodist University, University of Tampa, University of South Florida and the Florida Venture Forum. He is active in the Dallas/Fort Worth Private Equity Forum, Houston Private Equity Association and Rice Alliance. He earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
