Biography

Mr. Paul Klingenstein is the Founder and serves as Board Chair & Managing Partner at Aberdare Ventures. Mr. Klingenstein serves as a Board Member of the Global Health Investment Fund. He also serves as Director at Clovis Oncology. He also serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee, Board Member, and Member of the Budget and Compensation Committee, the Ad Hoc Committee on Impact Investments, and the Nominating Committee at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He is also an Angel Investor. He also serves on the boards of The Campaign Legal Center, and The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and is a founding board member of Nia Tero, an organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous people and the guardianship of their ecosystems. He served as a Board Member at Adavium Medical. He served as a Board Member at MC10. Before founding Aberdare, he was an advisor to the Rockefeller Foundation, where he helped launch an early public-private partnership (IAVI), directed at finding a broadly effective vaccine for HIV. Earlier in his career, he worked at Accel Partners and Warburg Pincus. He received his AB in anthropology from Harvard and his MBA from Stanford.
