Biography

Dr. Zhi Yang is the Founder, Chairman and serves as a Managing Partner at BioVeda China Fund. He also is a Co-Founder of BioChain Institute. He serves as a Board Member at DiaCarta. He served as General Partner at BioVeda Capital. He has built portfolios of 25 companies, with 8 exits (4 IPO, 4 acquisitions). As an entrepreneur, he co-founded 7 companies, 6 of which continue to conduct business and grow. As a scientist, he was the principal inventor of more than 10 U.S. and international patents, which have been documented to have earned MNCs over $250 million. He was a senior fellow and faculty member at Rockefeller University and is now an advisor to the China Health and Medical Development Foundation, under China's Ministry of Health. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Harvard University as a fellow of CUSBEA's first class, the first group of mainland Chinese biology scholars selected to be brought to the U.S. after China opened its doors in 1979.
