Biography

Ms. Carmelita Gallo served as Trustee & Chairwoman, Benefits & Operations Committee at Young Men's Christian Association Retirement Fund. She is senior vice president and COO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. Ms. Gallo's YMCA career began at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, where she started as after-school director and rose to become vice president for program and staff development. She was also part of the Chicago MRC Office, where she provided training and leadership opportunities to YMCA staff and volunteers in Illinois, Indiana, and southern Wisconsin. Ms. Gallo served 12 years with the YMCA of the USA, first as director of community resources, then as director of association resources. She earned her BA in philosophy from the University of Illinois. Ms. Gallo has been a trustee since 2009.
