Tracey Lind General Information
Biography
Ms. Tracey Lind served as a Member of the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee & Finance Committee and Chairman of the Benefits Policy Committee at Church Pension Group. She is a newly retired Episcopal Priest and City Planner whose ministry has included work for social and environmental justice, interfaith relations, sustainable urban development, arts and culture, and progressive theology. Most recently, Tracey's ministry has extended to include the spiritual insights and lessons she has gained from a life complicated by dementia. On Nov. 8, 2016 (Election Day), Tracey was diagnosed with early stage Frontotemporal Dementia. This diagnosis hasn't stopped her from fully immersing in what life has to offer and what she has to give. From October to December last year, she was invited to speak at seven European churches in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. For 17 years (2000-2017), Tracey served as Dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, a thriving and diverse urban congregation, a center for arts and music, and a gathering place for those devoted to Cleveland and its future. Trinity Cathedral is part of Trinity Commons, an award-winning, environmentally sustainable, urban campus developed under Dean Lind's leadership. During her tenure, Dean Lind also led the establishment of Greater Cleveland Congregations and a number of other faith-based and civic initiatives. She also is the author of Interrupted by God: Glimpses from the Edge. From 1989-2000, Tracey was Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Paterson, New Jersey, where she led the effort to revitalize a large, multicultural urban congregation and establish the St. Paul's Community Development Corporation. Prior to entering seminary, Tracey worked for a decade in nonprofit management, city planning, and community organizing. She continues that work as a Board Member of a variety of nonprofit organizations, including The Episcopal Church Pension Fund, Judson Retirement Services, and Cleveland Neighborhood Progress. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Tracey is an alumna of the Columbus School for Girls. She holds a BA in urban studies from the Honors College at the University of Toledo, an MA of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati, and an MDiv from Union Theological Seminary in New York. Tracey has received numerous recognitions, including The Human Rights Campaign Equality Award, The YWCA Woman of Achievement, Cleveland State University Leadership Award, Community Shares Social Justice Award, National Council of Churches Circle of Names Award, Columbus School for Girls Alumnae Award, and Union Theological Seminary's Unitas Distinguished Alumni/ae Award.
