Biography

Mr. Ted Kanarek serves as Managing Director at Hawkstone Capital. ed brings a unique perspective to Hawkstone in having worked with family investors that were focused on direct investing in private companies with the goal of providing both investment return and social return. Ted brings over 18 years of proven sales and distribution experience in the alternative investment arena. Ted is presently serves on the board an emerging global macro hedge fund manager - Tarpon Trading and also serves as a governing board member at a fintech remittance company aimed at delivering a more tech friendly manner for families to send money to their families in emerging countries. Ted is also advising a family in the area of sports entertainment and acquisitions. Over the past several years, Ted has developed an infrastructure to bring the family office concept of direct investing to the Asian UHNW investors and worked for a private equity fund of funds focused on the emerging markets and a keen focus on impact investing and addressing the UN's SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals. Ted's past history includes serving as Director of Business Development & the Global Head of Consultant Relations at Citibank's Citi Capital Advisors. Citi Capital Advisors (CCA) was the $19 Billion USD Alternative Asset Management platform that offered a broad range of innovative strategies and products to sovereign wealth funds, global pensions and ultra-high-net- worth investors. Ted was also a Senior Vice President at Allianz Global Investors Capital. Allianz is an investment firm with over $60 Billion USD under our teams asset management group. Mr. Kanarek also had similar alternative investment management roles with Systematic Financial Management, GE Asset Management and institutional investment advisor Callan Associates over the last 20 years.
