Biography

Mr. Shawn Carolan co-founded and served as founding Chief Executive Officer and Advisor at Handle. He serves as Board Member at ShipBob and Kinetic Automation. He serves as Board Member at Chime. He serves as Board Member at Sticky, Monarch (Financial Software), OpenSpace, Roku, PlayPhone, Sticky, and Together Labs. He also serves as a Partner at Menlo Ventures. He served as a Board Member at Fractal 5. He has focused primarily on connected software and services. Before joining Menlo, he was a management consultant for Booz-Allen & Hamilton, after spending most of his career in software development and engineering management positions. He was the Manager of Software Architecture for Open Port Technology, a start-up that created Internet-based messaging software for data carriers. Prior to that, he worked at Motorola's Cellular Infrastructure Group and Wireless Data Group, Sprint PCS, and the University of Illinois' Center for Computational Electromagnetics. He earned a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He is also an angel investor. He also served as an Adviser at Zeal Learning.
