Biography

Mr. Peter Tinholt serves as a Partner & Member of the Investment Committee at Oriens Capital. He serves as a Board Member at Tekplas. He also served as an Advisor at WNT Ventures. He also served as a Board Member at About Health Supplements, Bluelab Corporation, and Rhino Manufacturing. He also serves as Co-Chairman & Board Member at Van Dyck Fine Foods. He brings significant Senior Executive experience, having run successfully added value export-focused businesses for the last 15 years. Combining strong strategic and operational knowledge with a background in sales and marketing. Having participated in several acquisitions, mergers, and divestments, He brings a well-rounded skill set to Oriens Capital. His most recent role was as General Manager, Asia Pacific for Taura Natural Ingredients. He has significant merger, acquisition, and divestment experience built up over 25 years working for large corporates and running private equity and privately owned businesses in New Zealand and Australia. His role included full responsibility for business activities in the APAC area, including sales and marketing, production, and finance. He has held senior executive roles at Johnson & Johnson, Cadbury Schweppes, Mother Earth, Delmaine Fine Foods, and Taura Natural Ingredients. He has excellent governance experience and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and a member of the Executive Board of Priority One. He has received two Rotary Paul Harris Fellow awards for his service to the community. He was a member of the global executive team. He is a director of Oriens Capital portfolio companies Rhino Manufacturing, Nautical Group, and Van Dyck Fine Foods. He was a management shareholder during the ownership of Taura by Australian private equity investor Champ Ventures and assisted during the successful sales process in 2015. His prior roles have had strong operational management and sales and marketing focus in export businesses, including GM for Allberry House, Group Sales, and Marketing Director for Delmaine Fine Foods, and Managing Director for Newmans Quality Foods Limited. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors, a member and active investor of Enterprise Angel, and a member of the Rotary Club of Tauranga Sunrise. He is a Trustee and Deputy Chair of the Acorn Foundation and a Trustee of the Tauranga Arts Festival Trust. He also acts as an advisor to WNT Ventures the Bay of Plenty-based tech incubator funded in part by Callaghan Innovation. Passionate about regional economic growth, He sees Oriens as an exciting development in the New Zealand Private Equity environment. He is a member of the Investment Committee.
